Make Your First Colour Darkroom Print

In this short workshop you'll learn how to make a true colour RA4 darkroom print from your own colour negative.

Working in Sequence's rare colour darkroom facility, you'll learn how to use a colour photographic enlarger, light and RA4 chemistry to create a full-colour photographic print by hand. You'll explore how exposure and colour balance work in the colour darkroom, and see how your negative is transformed into a physical print.

You'll leave with a unique, one-of-a-kind colour print, a new understanding of the RA4 darkroom process and, hopefully, a few new photography friends too.

We believe the darkroom should be an accessible, welcoming and collaborative space. Whether you're making your very first colour print or returning to analogue photography after many years, you'll be warmly welcomed at Sequence.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 14 days before the workshop will receive a full refund.

Unfortunately, cancellations made within 14 days of the workshop are non refundable unless we are able to fill your place from the waiting list.

If Sequence is required to cancel the workshop, all participants will be offered either an alternative date or a full refund.

Accessibility

Sequence is based within Backlit Studios, a beautifully restored former factory building dating back almost 200 years.

Our darkroom is wheelchair accessible with some temporary modifications to the entrance. However, due to the nature of the historic building, some areas are not fully accessible for all wheelchair users or those with certain mobility requirements.

Accessible toilets are located two floors above the studio and can be reached via either a lift or stairs.

If you have any questions about accessibility or would like to discuss your individual requirements before booking, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
